"Pirates of the Caribbean" movies have really made some "seafaring-adventure souls" popular with kids and adults today. Skulls, haunted ships, ghost pirates are popping up in Halloween decorations this year. What a refreshing change from the traditional pumpkins and ghosts. I made these coasters with a 4"x4" cork base and some map paper decoupaged on top. Two circles were cut from some rough textured paper and then distressed with dye inks, gold paint and some spattering for an old map look. Next I rubber stamped the Pirate Party and other images in black. To make the surface water-resistent..contact paper here I come. And folks, that's it.
